Our Members have collaborated on a number of projects in the last year that have had significant impact on the individuals involved, as well as the work they are doing in their respective industries. We continue to connect our Members and assist them in learning from one another through peer groups, online discussions, webinars, live training, events and social networking. Recent activities have included:
- The launch of Transformagents.org, helps our members share information, post events, create learning groups and blog about their experiences. We launched the site 8 months ago. Nearly 200 people have signed on as the community becomes more dynamic.
- A recent presentation by TNS Members Bob Wise (Cogan Owens Cogan) and SERA Architects described how “Team Oregon” helped shape a new vision for Taipei, Taiwan and define the sustainable 21st century city.
- Nearly 60 people have participated in our 2-day intensive Strategic Sustainability for Leaders workshops in Seattle, Chicago and Portland. This learning experience is the pivot point of our advanced sustainability study paths.
- Collaboration through a peer learning group facilitated by TNS helped several cities within Clackamas County, Oregon share best practices, resources and training on sustainability planning.
- Regular meetings of the participants in the Fall 2009 Strategic Sustainability for Leaders course in Seattle has created a strong local TNS network to discuss applications of the Framework in the State of Washington.
Looking ahead, we are now offering an expanded range of courses, workshops and webinars, from 1-hour online discussions to intensive workshops. We have also created three suggested Study Paths to guide you toward your sustainability goals: Basics, Leaders and Trainers. An ongoing TNS-USA introductory webinar is now offered free of charge, and we’re introducing a new online series on Backcasting. The 4-part series began in February. It is free for members, and will feature one or more TNS members and offer live discussion.
