Karen Walshe

Karen Walshe runs Walshe Marketing and Sustainability Services. She has twenty years of marketing experience in a combination of small business and multinational companies. Based in Marlborough Karen has also set up a small local tourism company, Explore Marlborough, that specialises in food and wine tours of Marlborough. Karen shifted to Marlborough as marketing manager for Grove Mill winery and was part of the team to get Grove Mill’s CarboNZero accreditation. Karen has trained in ISO14001 and was accredited as a Natural Step Advisor in 2011. Since leaving Grove Mill, Karen has helped many local businesses with implementing environmental management systems, carbon measurement or strategic sustainability planning.  She also implemented a sustainability speaker series which gave the community access to speakers from outside the region via video conferencing. With her role as a trustee of the Marlborough Regional Development Trust she has been instrumental in launching biodiesel into Marlborough.  She is a director of Celsias.co.nz and celsias.com.

Karen is currently running a trial of a sustainable business advisor position for the Marlborough District Council.
