In December we'll celebrate the success stories of two Natural Step Network members, Meeting Strategies Worldwide and Doubletree Hotel. These two pioneering organizations demonstrate how they have converted leaders in the hospitality and travel industries into sustainability leaders. Whether you host meetings and conferences, or simply attend them, anywhere or anytime, this presentation will inspire you to expect and achieve more.
Amy Spatrisano has over 20 years experience in the meetings and hospitality industry. Recently named among the "Top 25 Most Powerful People in the Meeting Industry" by MeetingNews, Amy is recognized as a leader in pioneering sustainable conference and event practices. She is the co-founder and current president of the Green Meeting Industry Council, chairs the APEX Green Meetings and Events Practice panel, and is the co-author of "Simple Steps to Green Meetings and Events."
Steve Faulstick's hospitality career spans 20 years, including positions with Hilton, Red Lion and Doubletree Hotels in San Jose, San Diego and Scottsdale, before coming to Portland in 1999. In 2006, the hotel became Oregon's first Green Seal Certified Hotel. Since then, the property has become an industry leader in sustainability, receiving recognition at the local, state and national levels for its efforts. In Summer 2008 the Doubletree Hotel Portland was recognized with the American Hotel and Lodging Association's "Good Earthkeeping" award for leadership in sustainability.
