Building on a great meeting at the MREA Fair we’d like to take it one step further and offer two breakout sessions on issues folks have expressed interest in: influencing businesses and elected officials, and working with Transition Towns and other methods.

Join fellow business, government, education and community leaders for an interactive, half-day workshop on the tangible benefits of embracing sustainability with a firm introduction to The Natural Step Framework.  Building on the business case for the triple-bottom-line, you will learn the basics of The Natural Step, and hear case studies demonstrating successful implementation of the Framework.

Overview of the Day:

This one-day program is designed to introduce business, government and community leaders to sustainability and The Natural Step Framework. In the morning, a presentation will define sustainability and present the basic principles of The Natural Step Framework, including the scientific basis for the Framework model and case studies. Attendees will participate in small group exercises around the four principles and learn how to apply the Framework in the creation of a business product and service.

Participants of this course will gain the knowledge and skills to understand, apply and communicate a compelling science based systems approach to sustainability, based on The Natural Step Framework. This course will focus in particular on the ability to present the core concepts of The Natural Step Framework with confidence.

The Natural Step Canada is a partner in this year’s Gaining Ground Conference, Ecological: The Power of Green Cities to Shape the Future. The conference is targeted to practitioners and advocates across a range of fields working to advance and accelerate urban sustainability.
