Our Funders

The Natural Step Canada is an entrepreneurial non-profit and registered charitable organization. To deliver our sustainability work, we rely on a mix of revenue streams including grants and sponsorships from foundations, corporations, and government.

Our funded work primarily focuses on:

  • Delivering high quality sustainability programs to Emerging Leaders across Canada—helping young Canadians gain the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to become the sustainability leaders of tomorrow.
  • Developing practical and well-researched sustainability toolkits, guidebooks, and thought leadership reports on issues that matter, and disseminating them widely to sustainability practitioners across Canada and around the world.
  • Developing a new collaborative model for systemic change and sustainability-driven innovation in Canada, the Sustainability Transition Lab.

Ottawa Sustainability Fund

The Ottawa Sustainability Fund (the OSFund) was created in 2006 as a philanthropic fund of the Community Foundation of Ottawa (the Foundation).  It enables donors to support with confidence projects that foster a sustainable society in the City of Ottawa.

Service Canada

Service Canada was created in 2005 to improve the delivery of government programs and services to Canadians, by making access to them faster, easier, and more convenient.

Servus Credit Union

Servus Credit Union, Alberta's largest credit union, is a member-owned, community-based financial institution with roots dating back to 1938.

Starbucks Foundation Shared Planet Youth Action Grant

We believe in the power of young people to change the world for the better. Starbucks has a culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism. With the Starbucks Shared Planet Youth Action Grants, we use this spirit of innovation to inspire young people to take action to create positive solutions to real local needs they see in their neighborhoods.
