VANOC - Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
Ann Duffy is currently Corporate Sustainability Officer to the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympics Games (VANOC). With 23 years’ work experience, Ann’s work focuses on the development, delivery and reporting of VANOC’s Sustainability commitments and on-going performance associated with the environmental, social inclusivity and accessibility, aboriginal participation, economic value add and related legacy dimensions of the Games.
Between 2000 and 2006, Ann worked with CH2MHILL, the Canadian subsidiary of a global infrastructure and project delivery firm, as Vice President, Sustainable Development. She established and grew the firm’s Sustainable Enterprise Solutions Practice serving Canadian public and private sector clients. Concurrently, she led the firm’s internal Corporate Sustainability Program focused on staff engagement, development, recognition, community involvement and performance reporting. Previously, she worked overseas for the World Wide Fund for Nature – International in Switzerland developing and managing communications, education and capacity-building programs, and locally for her own consulting practice on environmental management training and organizational change.
Ann holds a Master of Communications specializing in Marketing Communications from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Calgary.
Ann resides in Vancouver and is an active board member for the International Centre for Sustainable Cities and The Natural Step Canada. As a frequent speaker, Ann profiles trends and insights from her exposure and work with many ambitious individuals and organizations – large and small - on progress toward realizing extraordinary goals.
