Sara Blenkhorn
Sara’s passion for adventure has taken her all over the world opening her heart and mind to a diverse range of people, and cultures. Today, Sara works at The Natural Step International bringing over nine years experience in the field of sustainable development. Sara began swimming against the current at an early age. She received a four-year academic scholarship from a leading oil company and chose to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Development from the University of Dalhousie in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Since Sara graduated she has gained cross-cultural work experience with government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and large corporations in Canada. Her work abroad includes a nine-month post with The International Center for Sustainable Cities where Sara spearheaded a micro finance project for the city of Dar es Salaam.
In the spring of 2009 Sara graduated from Sweden’s award winning sustainability program and now holds a Masters degree in Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability. Sara’s experiences to date have given her a strong systems perspective on how to work towards sustainable development. She is committed to sharing this knowledge with others in order to encourage conscious choices for a living future.
