Riello

Riello is a European leader in heating and cooling systems for buildings.  With 2,000 employees and 600 million Euros in annual revenue, the company saw a rapid change in their core markets, and realized the potential of repositioning to become a regenerative force and create opportunity.

The Natural Step Italy helped Riello redefine its mission and vision in a highly collaborative and inclusive process whereby we consulted with Riello’s executives and R&D advisors plus 7,000 stakeholders.

We held training sessions for hundreds of managers, some in green buildings with passive solar technology, which helped inspire Riello toward sustainability..

The solar, renewable, high-efficiency new products that Riello installed in 2007 saved Italian citizens 20 million Euros in fossil fuels, and 133,000 tons of CO2.   2007 also saw the best business returns in the Italian market in Riello’s history.

The Italian Environment Ministry has recognised Riello’s leadership with the “Best Management for Sustainability” award.
