Kelly Hawke Baxter (Int.)
Kelly Hawke Baxter brings nearly two decades of experience in sustainable development to her work as Executive Director of The Natural Step Canada. She was a member of the original steering committee that brought TNS to Canada in 1996, a founding Board Member, former chair of the TNS Canada Board, and is currently vice-chair of The Natural Step International. Her vision and passion for sustainability have guided the organization through tremendous change, growing our staff from 2 to 12 people, and our budget by 1000%.
A 15-year veteran journalist and editor, Kelly’s excellent communications skills make her an engaging speaker, facilitator and leader. Her commitment to sustainable development has seen her volunteer her time with other non-profit organizations including Friends of the Earth, the Developing Countries Farm Radio Network, Street Kids International, and others.
Kelly holds masters degrees in Development Studies and International Journalism. She is a member of the International Centre for Sustainable Cities, the Advisory Board of the Smart Growth Canada Network, and the Distinguished Advisory Council of the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs.
