Jan Harrison
Currently juggling sustainability related contract and consulting work with motherhood, Jan is the former Regional Manager of the Southern branch of the Sustainable Business Network (www.sustainable.org.nz), and spent 2 years managing the office of The Natural Step here in New Zealand.
Before children, Jan worked with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and two of its predecessors, Trade NZ and Tradenz, as a Business Development Consultant. In this role, her specialist areas were SME’s and companies new to export from a variety of industry sectors. As well as direct work with individual businesses, Jan worked extensively with Industry Groups and allied service providers.
Her early career included a number of years of sales and marketing work in both retail and manufacturing businesses in the outdoor sector. Jan continues to be involved in a variety of community organisations and sports clubs as a volunteer, and is passionate about the need for us to adapt to a more sustainable way of living and working over the next few decades. Jan is genuinely excited about the difference that business can make in this process.
