Morguard has 9 billion in assets. If they build a business center or a new development in my county, Santa Fe, NM, how much of our money will go to their investors, ceo's, etc?
How are they, at the top of this company, under a sustainability vision, are going to justify the tiny salaries paid to illegal or legal workers building their buildings? What kind of buildings are they going to build? With what kind of materials, from where are those materials imported? Under their new 'vision' will they use adobe, locally harvested wood, local contractors, architects, engineers...? Will they build passive and passive solar houses which, here in SF, may not need heating and cooling technologies. Are they going to build cisterns for every roof capable of harvesting all the rainwater that each roof can collect? Are they going to use composting toilets or/and build grey/black water irrigation systems? If theyr build a neighborhood of about 1000 houses are they going to also build a plaza with local stores.....
