Italian High School Students Get Into Intensive Sustainability

The Natural Step Italy has been involved in the design and delivery of the 'Learning Week' program - an experimental pilot for innovative models for High School education.

Thirty five high school students from the Milan and Como areas have gone through a five-day intensive learning program on sustainability, alternative economics, tourism and food production models; focusing their efforts on the beautiful Lake Como area. The program is assessing the potential of alternative educational models within a multi-year, EU funded effort by the Lombardy Regional Government. Early feedback from the participants has been extremely positive. The challenge now is taking the program from the pilot scale to mass adoption within the Lombardy school system, mostly through the design of learning programs for teachers, and training of trainers.  Stay tuned for more!
