TNS Canada Launch Events in Whistler Postponed
We regret to inform you that we are postponing the launch of the TNS Network, Working Toward a Sustainable Future, in Whistler June 4 and 5th. This means the peer dialogue sessions, workshop with Bryan Smith, networking dinner with keynote from Nike’s Lorrie Vogel, and sustainability site visits are cancelled. We will, however, still be proceeding with two municipal workshops – on Sustainable Community Planning and Sustainability, Governance and Organizational Change to take place June 4th .
A number of factors contributed to our difficult decision. The current economic climate has made it very difficult for many people to travel this year and getting to Whistler proved to be a challenge for many of our members. Given the slow rate of registration, we didn’t feel we could deliver the event that was promised.
We will, however, continue to develop and pilot The Natural Step Network this year and are very pleased with the high level of interest from our growing list of members, representing municipalities, large and small businesses, NGOs and universities from coast to coast. We will be continuing to move forward with our new webinar and web-dialogue series and regional events throughout the rest of this pilot year.
To those of you who were planning on joining us in Whistler, we apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this decision may cause. We’ll be contacting all registrants within the week to arrange refunds.
If you are still planning on being in Whistler, please let us know (info[at]naturalstep.ca). We’ll still be there and will be convening an informal gathering.
