 Jacques has been involved with The Natural Step Canada since 2001, helping the organization to enhance its educational reach and effectiveness through the use of technology. He acquired a deep knowledge of The Natural Step Framework in his role as Lead Instructional Designer and co-author, with Chad Park, of Sustainability: Step by Natural Step, an innovative online course being used by organizations and communities to build awareness and develop a shared vision of sustainability. As an educational technologist and consultant for the past 20 years, Jacques has provided strategic planning, design and evaluation advice to various other sustainability and mission-oriented organizations and agencies including the Pembina Institute for Appropriate Development, the Similkameen Valley Planning Society, the World Resources Institute and others. He is also a member and Director of Lions Gate Learning Alliance, a consortium of ten Western Canadian e-learning companies focused on the application of learning technologies to support sustainable development initiatives in Latin America. As an Associate of The Natural Step Canada, his goal is to contribute to building a sustainable future in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley region, where he settled with his family in 2000.
