Erika Aruja
Erika originally joined The Natural Step Canada through the Career Focus Internship program. Now as the Programs Officer, Erika supports Learning Programs, the Natural Step Exchange and the fundraising program.
Erika attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she studied Political Science and Economics, and completed the co-operative education program. Erika also participated in the World Affairs Society where she attended model United Nations conferences with fellow students.
Upon graduating University, Erika was an Intern in the Political Section at the Canadian Embassy to the United States in Washington D.C. During her internship, she reported on a variety of American foreign policy and defense issues of interest to Canada. She enjoyed drafting diplomatic cables on issues important to Canada and learning about the government policy making process.
Prior to joining The Natural Step, Erika worked at Wilfrid Laurier University and travelled.
In addition to work, Erika enjoys running and horse-back riding. She also participates in the Canadian International Council as a Young Professional Member.
