Colin Baril

Colin is the Director of Operations and Development for The Natural Step Canada. In his role, Colin is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the organization, including overseeing financial management and budgeting; business model decisions; fundraising and business development; information technology and human resources; and office management and administration.

Colin brings a strong mix of non-profit and corporate advisory services experience to the team. Prior to joining The Natural Step Canada, he spent over ten years with IBM Global Business Services as a Managing Consultant. In this role, he managed teams and guided clients through strategic issues and large, complex transformations. Colin is also past national vice president of AIESEC Canada, where he was responsible for fundraising and business development activities.  Other non-profit experience includes working as a Communications Officer for ActionAid India in Bangalore, and as Development Officer for CAREERS: The Next Generation Foundation, an Alberta-based non-profit.

Colin holds a MBA in Finance from the Terry School of Business, University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) degree from the University of Alberta.

Colin is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, but has lived in the nation’s capital since 2000. In his spare time, he serves as Past Chair and current member of the Board of Directors for AIESEC Canada. Colin enjoys watching movies, designing and creating custom birthday cakes, and tending to his backyard vegetable garden with his wife and two children.
